As a Haunted Carriage Tour Guide, you'll lead guests through the historic streets of downtown Charleston by horse-drawn carriage, sharing the city's most fascinating ghost stories, legends, and mysterious history. Every evening, you'll entertain visitors from around the world while working alongside our incredible team and beautiful draft horses. About the Role As a Haunted Carriage Tour Guide, you will: Lead entertaining and engaging 40-minute haunted carriage tours through historic downtown Charleston. Share Charleston's ghost stories, legends, folklore, and fascinating history with guests from around the world. Safely drive our beautiful draft horses through the city's historic streets. Answer guests' questions about Charleston's history, restaurants, attractions, and local recommendations. Deliver a fun, energetic, and memorable experience using your personality, storytelling ability, and stage presence. We take pride in maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer service, historical accuracy, and equine care, and we're looking for guides who share those values. Schedule Our Haunted Carriage Tours operate between 5 PM and 10:30 PM , making this an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking evening work. 40-minute tours 20+ minute breaks between tours Typically 3-5 tours per evening Flexible scheduling available No previous tour guide experience is required. We provide comprehensive paid training that prepares you to confidently lead tours and safely operate our horse-drawn carriages. If you've ever been told you should be on stage, enjoy making people laugh (or giving them chills), and want one of the most unique jobs in Charleston, we'd love to meet you. Requirements What we are looking for: A confident, engaging personality with a flair for storytelling. A passion for history, culture, and working with animals. Commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. Equestrian experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate. General open availability for giving tours weekly (weekdays and weekends) Applicants must be able to stand and balance on board moving vehicle Valid Drivers License Benefits Industry-leading pay (Starting pay: $35-$40 per tour, plus tips). Our pay is considered the highest in this market.
