Job Description

JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION
Ya-A-Te student staff serve as student leaders who serve as guides, mentors, and positive role models during a three-day off-campus retreat designed for incoming and returning students. Ya-A-Te student staff plays a critical role in facilitating small group activities, encouraging student engagement, and helping students transition to college life. This is a part-time position and can work up to 18 hours per week.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Facilitate discussions and team-building activities with a group of 10-20 students. Serve as a mentor and peer resource, offering encouragement and guidance to students throughout the retreat. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes connection, involvement, and school spirit. Serve as a coach during tribal games and lead a team of 30 - 50 students. Assist with coordination of large- and small-group programming, games, and other retreat activities. Adhere to safety and emergency guidelines while maintaining professionalism and a safe environment for attendees. Work closely with other student leaders, professional staff, and campus partners to ensure a smooth and impactful retreat experience. Demonstrate positive behavior, responsibility, and enthusiasm at all times. Attend all required training sessions in preparation for the retreat. Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Life staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual Contributor Work Environment:
Work may be required outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors .
Physical Demands:
Sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
Travel Required:
If travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record
