Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE
The Part-time Student Recruiter/Outreach Tour Guide position at Navarro College is responsible for demonstrating all that makes Navarro College great to the public it serves. This high-profile, front-line position will allow the Student Recruiter/Outreach Tour Guide to serve as the student perspective for Navarro College. This position is responsible for internal and limited external recruitment activities to include, but are not limited to location tours, stakeholder visits, assisting with the distribution of admissions related materials, execution of recruitment activities and events, and promoting college admissions/recruitment best practices.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for working with members of the Student Enrollment department in hosting groups that will include, but are not limited to, prospective students and their parents, stakeholder visits, alumni, community organizations, and middle or elementary school students. Responsible for serving as the front line to Navarro College. Display pride and passion for Navarro College while representing themselves and the school in a professional and appropriate manner at all times. Assist with incoming and outgoing calls and campaigns as a Contact Center Agent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be a team player. Must exhibit a fun, enthusiastic, engaging and outgoing personality. Must demonstrate an active commitment to the success of Navarro College and the public it serves. Must have the ability to demonstrate a customer-centered focus and professional approach to all matters related to Navarro College while serving in this role. Must be able to effectively speak in public and communicate over the phone or virtually to various audiences. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships and ability to work effectively with college faculty, staff, administration, students and the community. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities. Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment, decision-making skills, ability to prioritize, plan ahead, and anticipate potential problem situations and resolutions. Computer fluency, including administrative software and communication software. Demonstrate professionalism by approaching others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, and treat others with respect and consideration.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Current Navarro College student High School diploma or GED Demonstrated leadership experience Ability to drive a motor vehicle Minimum 2.75 GPA; no GPA required for incoming, first time in college, non-dual credit students.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Busy working environment with numerous interruptions. Occasional required work hours include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
SALARY:
$10. per hour / up to 19 hrs per week
