Job Description
Astroville Tours is Houston's top-ranked tour and charter transportation company specializing in NASA Space Center tours, Downtown Tunnel tours, Private Food tours, as well as corporate event planning for some of Houston's largest Fortune 500 companies. We are currently looking to hire easy-going and energetic tour guides, educators, entertainers, and local historians to join our team of part-time / full-time Houston tour guides.
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR AN INTERVIEW, YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Working as a Tour Guide / Hospitality Host for a hospitality, travel, or transportation-related company for at least one (1) year Weekday availability from Monday-Friday morning / early afternoon (9 AM - 5 PM) Taking event attendance and performing check-in duties is a MUST Working with people from different countries and with language barriers is a MUST Strong storytelling abilities, public speaking, and communication skills is a MUST Leading large professional groups is a PLUS Natural interest in rocket science, space program, astrology, architecture, and Houston/Texas history is a PLUS

Ability to easily build rapport and engage tour guests with interesting information about NASA Space Center exhibits, presentations, and populars trams Ability to easily build rapport and engage tour guests with interesting information about Houston tunnel system, city architecture, city history, and historical pioneers Ability to retain and recite detailed tour information, facts, and stories for a periods of between 2 - 5 hours Ability to keep logistical track and behavioral control of large tour groups Ability to follow instructions accordingly and strive to deliver as much effort as possible at all times Ability to maintain a positive attitude while handling unexpected situations with strong sense for safety protocol and professional best practices Genuine passion for the city of Houston and its role as the Space City Genuine passion for the NASA Space Program and history of Space Exploration Genuine passion for acting as ambassador of Houston when meeting tourists of different cultures, nationalities, religions, etc. Ability to fluently speak 2 or more languages is preferred Ambition to grow into a future leadership role is preferred Passion and Humble Charisma are the essential requirements to work for Astroville Tours. Pay:
Pay starts at $30.00 per hour plus tips from our generous guests. Please see rate of pay for our tours below. Tunnel Tour of Downtown Houston (2 hours): $60.00 per tour NASA-Expert Guide Tour (5 hours): $100.00 per day (Up to $125.00 for previous tour guides) NASA Expert Guide Tour + Express Tunnel Tour (6 hours) : $150.00 per day Our tour guides also make substantial tips because they're strong storytellers as well as resourceful when it comes to enjoying the best of Houston and providing recommendations! Many of our guides will earn over $50 from tips from just one tour during busy weeks of the year and earn over $100 per day just from tips during the peak travel seasons! We also offer weekly bonuses paid electronically for each 5-star customer review left on Google. Please note, all new contractors will need to complete our company training orientation program to learn how to become a proficient and efficient tour guide in the city of Houston as well as sign our required Non-Disclosure and Non-Compete Forms. All training staff will be required to pass a retention exam on the required knowledge within 60 days and execute all required legal paperwork to commence their contractual employment with Astroville Tours.
