A Travel or Tour Guide leads tours for groups of visitors or tourists. Leads tours of museums or famous or historic sites, and provides visitors with details and anecdotes about the history and significance of buildings, artwork or collections. Travels with a group of tourists, plans site visits and daily itineraries, interprets languages, and shares specialized knowledge about a country or city with the group.
Welcoming visitors and making them feel welcome. Conducting tours to VIPs, special groups. Assisting visitors, answering questions. Helping staff includes some cleaning Opening/closing procedures, turning exhibits on/off.
Museum Docent Responsibilities:
Candidates will be responsible for welcoming the visitors, assisting them, answering any questions, etc. Manager is looking for candidates that are enthusiastic, friendly, welcoming, flexible, good team players, should have neat appearance at TEC, etc. The facility is spread across 44,000 sq. ft. and the candidates will be spending most of their time walking around and assisting the visitors. During some special events, the candidates should be comfortable working a little over the shift time to help around but they'd still be working around 8 hours on the days of these special events.
Museum Docent Pay & Schedule:
Part Time / $16.85 per hour Tuesday 10am-4:30/5pm Wednesday 10am- 4:30/5pm Thursday 10am- 4:30/5pm Every other Mondays 2pm-4:30pm •This is a part-time position. Some evening and weekend availability is required for special events, as needed. Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO),
