Job Description

Job Overview:
The Bistro Attendant is a multi-skilled team member responsible for delivering excellent food and beverage service to our guests. This role combines front-of-house customer service—including cash handling and guest interaction—with back-of-house duties such as food preparation, cooking, and kitchen support. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
  • Greet and interact with guests, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make food or beverage recommendations.
  • Take food and drink orders, process payments, and ensure prompt, accurate service.
  • Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any issues.
  • Inform guests about daily specials and promotions.
Food & Beverage Handling:
  • Serve food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks (with proper age verification).
  • Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks, chill wine bottles, and serve specialty dishes.
  • Assist with food preparation, including salads, appetizers, desserts, and brewing coffee.
  • Cook on a flat-top grill, deep fryer, gas stovetop, and oven as needed.
  • Garnish and decorate dishes for an appealing presentation.
Restaurant Maintenance:
  • Clean tables, counters, and dining areas after service.
  • Roll silverware, set tables, and restock service stations.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and tidying up dining areas and bathrooms.
  • Ensure the restaurant is well-prepared for the next shift or large parties.
Administrative Support:
  • Prepare guest checks, process payments, and credit card transactions.
  • Assist hosts with answering phones, taking reservations, and managing to-go orders.
  • Provide guests with local area information and directions.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience. Upscale and Premium Marriott experience preferred. Previous guest or customer service experience preferred. Certification in liquor, wine, and food service is a plus. TIPS, CARE, or equivalent certification required (or must be obtained on the first day). Ability to use property management systems, computers, and point-of-sale systems.
