Civil Process Server Location:
We are currently seeking Process Servers in the following counties: Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Hale, Greene, Sumter, Marengo, Wilcox, Choctaw, Clarke, Dallas. You can choose what counties you would like to cover! American Legal Solutions is seeking a reliable Civil Process Server to join our growing team.
Role Overview:
A Civil Process Server delivers legal documents (service of process) to defendants, witnesses, and other parties involved in civil legal actions. This role is essential to maintaining constitutional due process and keeping legal proceedings moving forward. You will execute service attempts accurately, efficiently, and in strict compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Position Details & Pay:
Pay Structure (per completed case):
Routine Service:
$40-45 (Up to 3 attempts within 10 days)
Rush Service:
$90 (Up to 3 attempts within 5 days)
Same-Day Service:
$130 (Up to 3 attempts within 2-3 days)
Location:
Candidates must be centrally located or willing to travel across the designated coverage area.
Availability Requirements:
Most cases must have 1 attempt in each of our standard due diligence time windows. Sometimes a client will provide their own time windows or request a weekend attempt depending on the court's requirements. The following are our standard time windows:
Morning Window:
6:00 AM•10:00
AM Afternoon Window:
10:00 AM•5:30
PM Evening Window:
5:30 PM•10:00
PM Equipment & Tools Needed:
Reliable transportation, a smartphone, a printer, and access to notary services for notarized affidavits. It is the responsibility of all contractors to obtain access to a reliable notary, ALS does not reimburse for any notary costs.
Job Type:
1099 Independent Contractor (Work volume is based on regional caseload).
