A Food Expeditor is a professional responsible for ensuring efficient order flow between the waitstaff and kitchen. They prioritize orders and assist in final dish preparation, ensuring accuracy and presentation. With excellent communication and organizational skills, they maintain fast service and handle customer complaints.
DutiesResponsibilities:
Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served to guests. Ensure that orders get to their table as quickly and accurately as possible. The expeditor passes customer orders to the kitchen staff; once they're ready, inspect the dish to confirm that it complies with restaurant food quality standards. Effectively communicates to food runners, waiters or waitresses to serve the orders to the appropriate tables. Ensure a fast and smooth flow of work between the servers and the kitchen. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Closes the assigned work area properly and follows the closing checklist for expo station. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager-on-duty or Chef.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years experience in food service industry. At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity or role. Must posses strong communicate skills. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
