Position Overview LON's at the Hermosa seeks a professional, personable, service-focused AM Server to join our award-winning culinary team. The AM Server plays an important role in creating an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service from the moment guests arrive through the completion of their dining experience. This is a morning/daytime serving position, and weekend availability is required. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in hospitality, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys creating genuine connections with guests. A working knowledge of wine and a passion for food and beverage are highly valued in this role. Key Responsibilities Arrive on time, prepared for the shift, and dressed according to established grooming and uniform standards. Complete all assigned opening side work and ensure the dining area is fully prepared for service. Inspect the dining room to ensure tables, chairs, floors, glassware, silverware, and overall presentation meet LON's standards. Stock and maintain service and bus stations with necessary supplies throughout the shift. Polish glassware and silverware and maintain immaculate table settings. Participate in daily food and beverage meetings and become familiar with menu items, ingredients, daily features, sauces, and preparation methods. Welcome guests with genuine warmth, professionalism, and attentive service. Provide knowledgeable explanations of the menu, daily features, beverages, and wine selections. Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system. Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally while ensuring proper presentation. Provide wine service in accordance with LON's service standards and demonstrate confidence when discussing wine selections. Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary considerations. Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service throughout the dining experience. Monitor food orders before delivery to ensure accuracy, presentation, and proper preparation. Communicate effectively with culinary, service, and leadership teams to ensure smooth and efficient service. Follow all applicable state and local regulations regarding responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Maintain accurate guest checks and use the POS system to process and finalize transactions. Thank guests sincerely and ensure their experience meets or exceeds expectations. Assist with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables. Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas. Complete closing duties and assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks. Complete required cash-out procedures and reconcile sales with the manager. Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. Follow all company policies, food safety requirements, service standards, and established procedures. Skills & Qualifications Minimum one year of previous restaurant or food service experience preferred. Previous upscale or fine dining experience preferred. Basic wine knowledge and a genuine interest in food and beverage. Strong commitment to exceptional guest service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to confidently communicate menu items, ingredients, specials, and beverage offerings. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high service standards. Ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive during busy periods. Ability to hear, understand, and respond appropriately to guests and team members in a busy dining environment.
