Job Description

Successful performance requires satisfactory completion of all essential duties and responsibilities. The essential duties described below are representative of the skills and ability necessary while performing the basic functions of the position. Serve residents and guests their food in a passionate and compassionate manner to ensure resident and guest satisfaction. Follow all sanitation, disposal, food labeling, and food storage guidelines and regulations. Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers. Ensure sanitation standards are being meet or exceeded. Receive orders from residents and assist them in making selections that they will enjoy. Deliver food to resident rooms and return to remove dishes. Responsible for busing dishes and assisting in the cleaning of the dining room or resident apartment if they chose to dine there. Responsible for setting dining room tables per company expectations. Ensuring tables have all required condiments. Professionally serve and attend community marketing events as a server. Assist Dining Culinary Director with storage of food and supplies, taking inventory, accepting deliveries, stocking, and maintaining safety as directed. Communicate any observed concerns, issues, or resident changes to management immediately. Always have a friendly and helpful attitude with residents, families, and guests. Encourage teamwork among all departments and assist with conflict resolution. Maintain confidentiality regarding all protect health information or personal information of residents and employees. Per State of California regulations, as a "mandated reporter" you must report all known or suspected incidents of resident abuse of dependent adults or elders. Performs other duties as assigned and are consistent with the success of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age Requirement:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Education:
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Experience:
One year of serving experience preferred.
Professionalism/Personal Ethics:
Has respect and compassion towards older adults. Demonstrates concern for the physical and emotional needs of residents and their families. Upholds values of company and shows personal integrity.
Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
Able to perform simple math calculations. Able to respond to resident needs with patience, compassion, and respect. Communication Skills Clearly able to speak, read, and understand English. Can follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted and with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Handles exposure to extreme heat and cold.
Other Requirement:
Employee must pass a criminal record clearance, health screening and drug testing prior to beginning work in the community.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to regularly listen and speak to individuals, stand for long periods, move about the community, bend, reach, and grasp, lift up to 20 lbs., and assist with walking residents. Good vision is required.
Pay:
$16.90 - $17.50 per hour
