Iyasare in Berkeley, CA is looking for one server to join our team. We are located on 1830 Fourth Street. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged. Responsibilities Provide exceptional, personalized service to guests throughout their dining experience. Greet guests, present menus, answer questions, and make knowledgeable food and beverage recommendations. Accurately take and enter guest orders into the POS system. Serve food and beverages according to elevated dining service standards. Anticipate guest needs and ensure prompt, attentive service. Maintain extensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, daily specials, wine, beer, sake, and cocktail offerings. Execute proper coursed dining, tableside service, and wine service when applicable. Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery. Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction. Process guest payments accurately and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of dining areas before, during, and after service. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines. Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned. Uphold the restaurant's standards of hospitality, professionalism, and appearance. Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Qualifications Previous serving experience required; fine dining or upscale dining experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktail service, or willingness to learn. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused attitude. Ability to provide professional, polished, and attentive service in a fast-paced environment. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns with professionalism. Experience using Toast POS system and handling cash and credit card transactions. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25-50 pounds. Current food handler and alcohol service certifications Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards. Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Fine dining, wine service, or hospitality certification preferred.
