A captain at Troubadour Bread & Bistro, is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests in the style that is unique to the restaurant , responsible for knowledge of the seasonal dishes and being able to communicate with the guest on their preferences and questions, serving food and beverages in a fine-dining style, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the chefs to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences. Greet and welcome guests with a warm, friendly and genuine demeanor, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued throughout their dining experience. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, sourcing, preparation methods, and wine pairings, to provide informed recommendations to guests. Engage with guests during their meal, checking in to ensure satisfaction and addressing any concerns or special requests. Work closely with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and directors to create a cohesive and efficient dining experience. Clear, wipe and reset tableware, napkins, flatware water and wine throughout service. Qualifications Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a sensitivity to detail Two years experience in the food and beverage industry Ability to receive feedback and aim for growth Wine knowledge is a plus Team player with a positive attitude Culinary or hospitality education is a plus Previous experience in a fine dining establishment is preferred industry
