Banquet Server & Back-up Driver Antelope Valley Meals on Wheels Lancaster, CA Job Details Part-time $17 - $18 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Customer communication Courier driving Working with seniors High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description This is a dual position, Banquet Server & Back-up Driver, who serves meals to seniors in a Congregate setting as well as serve as a back-up Driver who operates a vehicle to provide home delivered meals to seniors and disabled residents of the community. We are looking for someone who has at least 2 years current experience in delivery driving and Customer Service. Must be 21 years or older to apply.
BANQUET SERVER GENERAL SUMMARY
Set up lunch and banquet service areas according to specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations. Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their assigned tables, and assist with seating as needed. Take drink orders and serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tables are cleared promptly, and dishes and utensils are cleaned and replenished. Monitor guests' needs throughout the event, proactively offering assistance and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. Work closely with the Banquet Service Manager to coordinate food service and ensure timely delivery of courses. Anticipate and respond promptly to guests' requests and concerns, escalating issues to the appropriate supervisor when necessary. Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and storage procedures. Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as required. Collaborate with the Banquet Service and Operations Manager team to maintain inventory of supplies and other service-related items. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times, exhibiting excellent communication and teamwork skills. Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our senior guests. Follow all established protocols and guidelines outlined by the Senior Center.
BACK-UP DELIVERY DRIVER GENERAL SUMMARY
Prepare the home delivery vehicles for routes by parking and ensuring all components are ready for delivery. Assist in loading hot and cold meals to the respective route vehicle. Follow designated routes to deliver congregate and home meals. Interact professionally with home delivered meal recipients and report any unusual observations to supervisor. Assist in vehicle inspections such as oil, coolant, brake and power steering fluids. Assist in fueling, washing and cleaning home delivery vehicles as required. Maintain in possession while on duty; current driver's license and insurance. Load and unload in a safe manner. Maintain accurate route sheets. Turn in daily to transportation office; keys, gas card, gas receipts, route sheets and company phone. Reports injuries or accidents immediately to Director of MOW and completes a written report of the incident. Notifies the HDM Coordinator if any unsafe vehicle condition is identified. Demonstrates safe driving practices at all times and follows safety precautions. Keeps information about senior meal recipients confidential at all times. Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working inside and outside serving guests and delivering home delivered meals, as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekend for special events. At least 2 years experience as a server or driver in a similar customer service role is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with seniors and guests of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including serving etiquette and menu items. Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment and stand for long periods of time. Attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be 21 years or older .
