Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, processing sales transactions efficiently. Provide detailed menu descriptions, including wine and spirits recommendations, to enhance guest experience and encourage upselling. Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and promote additional sales opportunities like cocktails or dessert. Maintain proper food handling and sanitation protocols to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to keep service flowing smoothly. Skills Extensive experience with food service operations in a restaurant or hospitality setting, including fine dining environments. Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for sales processing. Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage pairing to enhance guest recommendations through upselling techniques. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences. Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking between serving tables, handling cash transactions, and maintaining cleanliness. Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food industry roles like bussing or serving is highly valued. Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation and cash handling; experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus.
