The ideal candidate is available to work part-time, primarily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and has a minimum of 2 years of serving experience. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Jacks Monterey Servers are responsible for serving guests in the restaurant. They must be personable and able to work in an ever
  • changing, fast-paced environment.
The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. Speed, accuracy, attention to detail, courtesy and anticipation of guests needs are essential.
THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB ARE
Responsible for serving guests while complying with a sequence of customer service standards to positively impact the guests' experience Ability to assume a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guests and fellow staff members Recommend certain dishes, identify ingredients and explain how various items on the menu are prepared Responsible for serving beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest's ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages Responsible for recording guest orders and relaying orders to the kitchen via P.O.S. system Responsible for observing guests and responding to any additional requests in a timely manner Responsible for computing the cost of the meal and presenting the guest with the check; Accept payments and provide change as necessary Responsible for noticing and refilling salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments and napkins Responsible for replacing tableware and linens Set tables for next meal period according to standard Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas Complete food and beverage knowledge and be able to communicate in detail to guests Comply with the Company's standards of conduct The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. The Ideal Candidate will:

Must approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. Must be effective at authentic listening skills to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by guests. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays based upon company needs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
Knowledge of the entire hotel food & safety compliance procedures, hotel safety procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees.
EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required California Food Handlers / ServSafe Certification
  • Required State approved Certification Alcohol management
  • Required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Ability to solve problems quickly. Basic computer and phone skills.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
Minimum 6-months of serving experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
