K St. Kitchen & Bar is Hiring — Server / Host K St. Kitchen & Bar is a Vietnamese cuisine restaurant and bar in Downtown Sacramento serving traditional and modern Vietnamese dishes in a welcoming, full-service dining environment. We are looking for an energetic, dependable, and hospitality-focused Server / Host to join our front-of-house team. We want someone who understands that great service is more than taking orders. You should be comfortable talking with guests, explaining Vietnamese dishes, helping guests navigate the menu, working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, supporting your teammates, and creating a warm dining experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous full-service restaurant experience preferred Server and/or host experience strongly preferred Experience working with Vietnamese, Asian, or culturally diverse cuisine is a plus Familiarity with Vietnamese food is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person Friendly, outgoing, professional personality suited for the restaurant and hospitality industry Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable interacting with different types of guests Able to explain menu items, ingredients, flavors, and basic dish differences to customers Able to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods Reliable, punctual, and responsible Team-oriented and willing to assist other staff when needed Able to maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude Available for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Required Certifications Current California Food Handler Card Current California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification for employees serving alcoholic beverages Responsibilities may include: Greeting and seating guests Introducing guests to our Vietnamese cuisine and dining concept Explaining menu items and answering basic questions about Vietnamese dishes Taking food and beverage orders accurately Providing attentive and knowledgeable table service Making appropriate food and beverage suggestions Checking on guests throughout their dining experience Processing payments and closing checks Maintaining clean and organized dining and host areas Supporting bussing, table resetting, and other front-of-house duties Communicating effectively with kitchen, bar, and management Helping create a friendly, professional, and energetic atmosphere What We're Looking For We want someone with a genuine hospitality personality — confident, personable, attentive, quick-thinking, and comfortable working with both guests and coworkers. You do not need to be Vietnamese or speak Vietnamese. However, you should be interested in learning about Vietnamese cuisine, ingredients, dishes, and food culture so you can confidently represent K St. Kitchen & Bar to our guests. Experience is important, but attitude, reliability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn matter just as much.
