Join A Team of Driven, Passionate, Professionals We are a Michelin starred restaurant that is pursuing a second star. This means we are pushing, learning and improving everyday. The work is hard and the expectations are high. We are looking for a server with a minimum of 3 years in high end restaurants who has a serious drive to pursue a career in fine dining and all of the stress, work, drive and consistency that it takes to achieve the goals we are after. We will only respond to individuals that have the experience we require. We cannot teach people the drive and dedication it takes to always be better, you must bring that! Expectations You are able to work cleanly and efficiently. You have knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife cuts, cooking methods(poach, braise, roasting, etc.). You have a willingness to improve your abilities both through practice and through researching different cooking techniques/methods. You want to be part of a team that encourages growth in your abilities. You can communicate effectively and respectfully to others. You must have a good knowledge of the products used in the restaurant and where they come from. This includes being aware of product quality standards. As part of the restaurant's culture of learning and innovation our menu changes about every 6 weeks. The expectation is that you will be thoughtful and constructive in feedback for new menus. Typically a work week will be Wednesday through Saturday and you will be scheduled for about 32 hours during that time. During new menu weeks extra hours will be scheduled in order to help prepare and teach everyone the new menu. We also have special events throughout the year that will require extra hours scheduled. Previous Wine knowledge is required and it is expected that you will learn the beverage pairings of the current menu. In reference to the wines on the Time and Place Pairing and Beverage pairing this includes, but is not limited to the Varietal of Grape(s), the producer, where the wine comes from, the vintage, and an understanding of why the pairing was chosen. In reference to the cocktails on the above mentioned pairings this includes, but is not limited to, the spirit used, where it comes from, the ingredients in the cocktail, and an understanding of why the pairing was chosen. For the Non-Alcoholic Pairing it is required to have an understanding of the ingredients in the beverage. Previous serving experience is required and it will be expected that you can and will run food, beverages, glassware, and silverware to a table in accordance with the service standards. This is an important part of the guest experience. Training will be provided on the service standards so that you will feel comfortable and be able to maintain our standards. List of Responsibilities Handle set-up, stocking and preparing the dining room in accordance to our standards. Must have the ability to lift, scoop, or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift. Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must exhibit hand coordination and dexterity for rapid productions. Ensure cleanliness and proper safety procedures are followed. Must be able to perform simple math calculations and understand units and measures. Ensure cleanliness and proper operation of appliances and tools. Organize dining room and storage areas Taking notes throughout the day of new methods, new practices that help the team and/or yourself improve Learn the service standards. Must obtain and maintain a food handlers card or other certified permit in accordance with the Sacramento County Health Code Follow all end-of-shift checkout procedures as outlined
