Shift:

Sundays 2-6p every week with option to also work farmer's market Friday (San Marcos 4-8p) and Saturday (Cardiff 10-2p). The Tasting Room Attendant (Meadtender) position is effectively a brand ambassador position that allows individuals to present themselves as the face of Meadiocrity to customers. Meadtenders are critical to the success of the business and the environment cultivated for customers within the tasting room. This job also has opportunities for wholesale account management. Successful meadtenders are responsible, consistent, clean, trustworthy, perceptive, personable, process-oriented, and hyper-aware of customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Opening/closing tasting room and tap system
• Multi-task with multiple customers to verify customer age, serve mead, create tabs, fill growlers, and answer customer questions
• Instill confidence in customers as they select meads
• Provide short but relevant mead education to customers during ordering
• Enthusiastically and appealingly describe various meads to customers
• Thoroughly maintain cleanliness of bar back, customer space, and bathrooms
• Notify management for low supplies
• Count out register and prepare cash reports
• Work nights, weekends, and select holidays

Required Skills:

• 21+ years or older
• RBS Certified (must obtain prior to starting)
• Exemplary customer service
• Perceptive to customer needs, even before customer may recognize them
• Militantly clean
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent performance, attendance, and communication
• Patient with customers but able to move along in ordering process
• Able to upsell without being pushy
• Able to lift 40lbs from ground to waist height
• Able to stand continuously for entire shift
• Process oriented for opening/closing procedures
