Miramar Lake Club is a private club in Thousand Oaks, California, and part of the Caruso portfolio. The Club is designed to deliver a highly personalized member experience across dining, recreation, wellness, and social programming. Caruso's Trattoria is one of the Club's primary dining experiences and is built around warm, polished hospitality, thoughtful food and beverage service, and the level of care and consistency expected throughout the Club. The Server Assistant supports the service team in delivering a polished, seamless and highly attentive dining experience for members and guests of Caruso's Trattoria. The role is responsible for table readiness, service support, dining room organization and anticipating the needs of both members and Servers. Server Assistants move with urgency without appearing rushed, communicate clearly, and help maintain a consistently clean, refined and service ready dining environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Member and Guest Service Acknowledge members and guests warmly and professionally, using names appropriately when known. Maintain a polished and discreet presence in the dining room and anticipate needs before being asked whenever possible. Respond promptly to member and guest requests or immediately involve the appropriate team member. Clear and reset tables quietly and efficiently without unnecessarily interrupting conversations. Service Support Prepare the dining room and service stations before service according to established standards. Set and reset tables accurately and consistently. Maintain water service, bread service and table accompaniments as directed. Clear plates, glassware and utensils efficiently and discreetly. Assist with food running and communicate accurately regarding table numbers, seat positions, allergies and special requests. Replace silverware, glassware, napkins and other service items as needed throughout the meal. Dining Room and Sidework Standards Keep service stations stocked, clean and organized throughout the shift. Polish glassware, flatware and service equipment as assigned. Complete opening, closing and assigned sidework duties. Maintain dining room cleanliness and presentation throughout service. Follow all sanitation, food safety and workplace safety standards. Teamwork and Communication Work closely with Servers, Hosts, Bartenders, culinary staff and management to maintain smooth service flow. Communicate table needs, delays, spills, breakage or service concerns immediately. Support teammates during peak periods and assist wherever needed to maintain the member experience.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous restaurant, private club, luxury hotel, resort or hospitality experience preferred; strong entry level candidates may be considered. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail and service standards. Strong sense of teamwork and willingness to assist wherever needed. Food Handler certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Carry trays, plates, glassware, bus tubs and service equipment safely. Lift approximately 25 to 40 pounds. Bend, reach, stoop and move frequently throughout dining and service areas.
Schedule Expectations :
Flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and special events based on business needs. The Club is open Tuesday through Sunday.
Compensation:
Hourly rate: $18 + percentage of the service charge from the day/shift (calculated by hours worked and position) .
