Job Description

Job Purpose The Back Server supports Servers and dining room operations behind the scenes, ensuring seamless service flow through table maintenance, food running, and station readiness. This is a on-call position that will pick up shifts potentially when we have events. Principal (Essential) Duties
  • Clear, reset, and maintain tables promptly and quietly throughout service.
  • Run food and beverages from the kitchen/bar to the correct table and guest, confirming accuracy before delivery.
  • Refill water, bread, and other standing items proactively without member request.
  • Support assigned Servers with section needs, side work, and service pacing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of service stations, linens, and supplies.
  • Assist with dining room setup and breakdown before and after service. Secondary Duties
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to anticipate Server and member needs.
  • Professional, discreet demeanor appropriate to a private club setting.
  • Ability to work well under pressure during high-volume service.
Experience / Education
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required.
  • Prior food service or hospitality experience preferred but not required — entry point into the service career track.
  • Food handler certification current per D.C. requirements. Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
  • Operate with indomitable work ethic and the willingness to work additional hours and atypical shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to a full shift) on a dining or bar floor.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs (trays, cases, supplies) and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and carrying.
  • See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, bend, stretch, twist, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
