Job Description

Omakase Room is seeking an experienced Server to join our intimate team in DC . A successful server is someone who is passionate about sushi, sake, Japanese culture, and philosophy, and more importantly, one that can create a positive and impressionable guest experience. The ability to speak in Japanese is preferred! Job Summary The Server will be responsible for helping guests through multi-course omakase or tasting-menu-style service. This includes timing service in sync with the chef's pacing, presenting dishes with clarity and enthusiasm, and providing thoughtful sake and beverage pairings. A successful candidate will demonstrate warmth, precision, and respect for Japanese culinary traditions while ensuring a seamless, memorable dining experience. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of serving experience in fine dining, preferably in Japanese or sushi-focused restaurants Proven experience serving at a chef's counter, including omakase or multi-course tasting menus Proficient knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi, sake, and traditional food/beverage pairings Strong ability to describe dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods with confidence and clarity Skilled at timing service to match the flow of the kitchen and chef's sequence Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits in addition to sake Ability to walk, stand, and remain attentive for extended periods of time Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be eligible to work in the United States Japanese language skills preferred, but not required The Group Hospitality is an
