Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Position Summary The Room Service server is responsible for delivering our guest the highest levels of service and product knowledge. The server is responsible for an in-depth knowledge of all food and beverages offered by the hotel and an adherence to the service sequence as outlined in the Biltmore standards of operation procedures (BSOP'S). The server must be enthusiastic about the position and maintain a positive attitude toward both the guest and other staff members of the hotel. Responsibilities
- Providing the highest levels of professionalism and enthusiasm to guests, and co-workers.
- Complete knowledge of use and care of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
- Completion of all assigned opening and closing tasks pertinent to the server position.
- Assist co-workers in the performance of their responsibilities when necessary.
- Maintenance of the highest levels of sanitation and safety in the workplace.
- Knowledge of location and requisitioning of all necessary products and supplies.
- Knowledge of bar and dining area seating charts.
- Complete familiarity with liquor and wine selection, pricing and preparation.
- Complete familiarity with all menu item preparations and presentation.
- Knowledge of and adherence to proper I.D procedures.
- Adherence to service standards as outlined in BSOP's.
- Daily reconciliation of sales and credit information.
- Declaration of earned gratuities in accordance with current governmental requirements.
- Immediate notification of a manager in the event of a problem, or the perception of a problem.
