Non-Exempt Position Summary We are the new ownership group at Tideline Resort & Spa and we are looking for a Food Runner, an essential member of the Food & Beverage team, responsible for ensuring that every dish reaches the guest promptly, accurately, and beautifully presented. Working closely with the culinary and service teams, the Food Runner supports a seamless dining experience by maintaining proper timing, plate integrity, table presentation, and communication throughout service. The ideal candidate demonstrates refined service awareness, a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Essential Responsibilities Deliver food and beverage items to guests promptly, accurately, and professionally, ensuring the correct table, seat position, and course timing. Inspect each plate prior to leaving the kitchen or expo area to ensure proper presentation, temperature, portion, and overall quality. Maintain the integrity and presentation of every dish from the kitchen to the guest's table. Communicate clearly and proactively with culinary and service teams regarding special requests, allergies, dietary restrictions, and course pacing. Maintain awareness of the dining room and anticipate the needs of guests and service team members. Assist servers with clearing, resetting, and maintaining impeccably presented tables. Ensure the expo line, service stations, and surrounding areas remain clean, organized, polished, and ready for service. Assist with pre-shift preparations, service setup, and post-shift breakdown. Support the service team during high-volume periods while maintaining composure, professionalism, and attention to detail. Respond to guest questions or requests with warmth and professionalism and direct additional inquiries to the appropriate team member when necessary. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, presentation standards, and appropriate service procedures. Communicate effectively with culinary, service, stewarding, and management teams to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of service. Follow all resort standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and responsible handling of food. Maintain a polished appearance and consistently demonstrate proper luxury-resort service etiquette. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining environment preferred. Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Understanding of restaurant service flow, food presentation, and dining room etiquette. Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize presentation or quality issues before food reaches the guest. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative culinary and service team. Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a strong sense of urgency without compromising service standards. Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in a high-volume environment. Professional appearance and positive, service-oriented attitude. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, bend, reach, and safely navigate a busy restaurant environment. Ability to carry food trays and other items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in and around hot kitchen and service areas. Ability to safely move through crowded dining rooms while carrying food and beverage items. Guest Experience Every Tideline Resort & Spa associate is a Guest Relations Ambassador . Although the Food Runner may have limited direct interaction with guests, every delivery, interaction, and service touchpoint contributes to the overall guest experience. Food Runners are expected to approach their role with warmth, discretion, confidence, and genuine hospitality, ensuring that every dish reflects the quality and attention to detail associated with the Tideline Resort & Spa experience. Safety & Security Associates are expected to follow all Tideline Resort & Spa safety, sanitation, and security policies and procedures. This includes proper food-handling practices, safe lifting and carrying techniques, awareness of hot surfaces and equipment, maintaining clear service pathways, and promptly reporting safety hazards or concerns. Associates are also expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding guest, employee, and resort information.
