Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Service Provide warm, gracious, and professional service to all guests from arrival to departure. Guide guests through the menu by confidently explaining dishes, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings. Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized, attentive service throughout the dining experience. Build rapport with guests and foster lasting relationships that encourage repeat visits. Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally, involving management when necessary. Food & Beverage Knowledge Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, wine selections, cocktails, spirits, and beer offerings. Make thoughtful recommendations and suggestive sell menu items, beverages, desserts, and after-dinner drinks. Maintain knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and menu modifications. Service Execution Execute all steps of service according to restaurant standards, including greeting, order taking, food delivery, table maintenance, and payment processing. Ensure accurate order entry and communicate modifications clearly to the kitchen. Coordinate timing of courses to ensure a seamless and properly paced dining experience. Maintain impeccable table presentation through proper table maintenance, water service, and resetting as needed. Teamwork & Operations Work collaboratively with hosts, bartenders, food runners, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Complete all opening, running, and closing side work assignments. Attend pre-shift meetings, tastings, and ongoing training sessions. Assist with private events and large parties as needed. Standards & Compliance Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with restaurant standards. Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines. Follow all company policies, procedures, and service standards. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of serving experience in an upscale, high volume restaurant preferred. Extensive food, wine, and beverage knowledge or willingness to learn. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment. Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
