Job Description
Apply Server(AM) Augusta, GA Apply Description
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and drinks in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
- Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary options.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in throughout the meal and addressing any needs.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery.
- Handle payments, issue receipts, return change, or process credit cards.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, stations, and service areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist the host or hostess in seating guests as needed.
- Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
- Memorize menu selections and wines, including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
- Use proper verbiage and etiquette, including serving ladies first.
- Write the order in an order notebook. Repeat the order back to guests for clarity.
- Relay orders to the kitchen and service bar utilizing the point-of-sale system.
- Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when the meal has been completed for guest checkout.
- Total the bill and accept payment or refer the guest to the cashier.
- Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
- Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints.
- Use proper etiquette guidelines for seating guests.
- Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures.
- Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested. Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures. Requirements
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Must know applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Must have good mathematical and computer skills.
- High school education preferred. Relevant training and experience required.
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
- CPR training and first aid training preferred.
