Food Runner Job Description Position Title Food Runner Department Food & Beverage Reports To Restaurant Manager Position Summary The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests quickly, accurately, and professionally. This position supports restaurant operations by ensuring food is presented according to hotel standards, assisting servers with guest needs, and maintaining efficient communication between the kitchen and dining room. The Food Runner plays a key role in creating an exceptional dining experience by ensuring guests receive their meals promptly and accurately. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Food Delivery Deliver food from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner. Verify each order is complete before leaving the kitchen. Ensure proper food presentation and quality standards are maintained. Identify menu items and present dishes to guests when serving. Deliver condiments, sauces, and accompaniments as needed. Guest Service Provide courteous and professional service at all times. Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate needs to servers. Assist in maintaining guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. Handle guest interactions with a positive and service-oriented attitude. Restaurant Support Assist servers with table maintenance and guest needs. Clear used plates and service items when appropriate. Refill water and assist with beverage service as directed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations. Restock supplies including napkins, silverware, condiments, and to-go materials. Teamwork Maintain effective communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff. Assist during peak meal periods and special events. Support banquet and catering operations as needed. Follow all hotel policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant, hotel, or food service experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds.
