Common is looking to expand its Front of House team and is accepting applications for the Service Assistant position. The Service Assistant position is a multifaceted position cross-trained in hosting, bar backing, running food, and generally assisting the Front of House team and Expo. The Service Assistant is a vital position in ensuring smooth service to guests and must be able to multi-task; work with a sense of urgency and purposefulness; have attention to detail; be able to work in an occasionally busy/chaotic environment where direction may come from multiple sources; be able to effectively prioritize; and be able to offer genuine guest service. As this position will assist throughout the restaurant, the Service Assistant must also be able to work with a diverse group of co-workers and guests; have a dedication to hospitality; have effective communication skills; must be adaptable to changing priorities and situations; and be willing to learn multiple positions throughout the restaurant. Additionally, the Service Assistant must be able to work on their feet, sometimes without a break; to traverse stairs multiple times a day; to squat, bend, reach, and lift overhead; and must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
