Job Description
Backpocket and Driftless are looking for a friendly, fast-on-your-feet server to join our team! You'll be pouring great beer, serving up good food, and keeping the vibe going in a community-focused taproom or pizza restaurant. What we're looking for: Positive attitude and strong people skills Ability to multitask during busy shifts Reliable availability (nights/weekends a plus) Prior serving experience preferred but not required — we'll train the right person What you get: Competitive pay + tips Employee discounts A fun team and a great crowd In addition to the hourly rate, this position has full access to the tip pool based on the number of hours worked. Duties and Responsibilities Welcome and greet customers as they arrive. Check ID's to ensure legal drinking age. Pour beers and create mixed drinks Be knowledgeable about Backpocket / Driftless products (beer, merchandise and food). Complete Iowa Program for Alcohol Compliance Training Assess customers for signs of intoxication and respond accordingly Make beer recommendations to customers Keep bar glassware clean. Maintain a neat and organized bar. Clear tables Report broken arcade machines to Lead Take out trash Complete opening and closing checklists Attend monthly staff meetings Greet customers when they pick up their food Prepare food to order and responds to additional requests by preparing orders to their specifications Direct customers to utensils, buzzer drop off Complete assigned prep tasks Keep kitchen area clean Complete Servsafe Food Handling certification within first month of employment Ensures compliance with all health codes and requirements Maintains stocking (re-stocking) and organization of work area daily Completes prep tasks as needed in accordance with recipe, procedure, quality and speed standards Contributes to positive food costs by utilizing established best practices Maintains food storage, receiving, stocking and rotation. Other duties as assigned
