Food Expo / Runner 85 Bar West - Waukee, IA Part-Time | $15/hour + tip-out | Approximately 15-20+ hours/week 85 Bar West is looking for a dependable, hardworking Food Expo / Runner to join our team. This position plays an important role in keeping our kitchen and front-of-house working together during busy shifts. This is more than just a food-running position. Our Expo is the final point of quality control before food reaches the guest and serves as a key connection between the kitchen and service team. We're looking for someone who can learn quickly, communicate well, stay organized under pressure, and anticipate what needs to happen next. Responsibilities Serve as the final quality-control check for food leaving the kitchen Read, organize, and fulfill tickets accurately and efficiently Ensure orders are complete, properly presented, and match guest modifications before leaving the kitchen Run food to tables and communicate confidently with guests and servers Serve as a point of communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams Coordinate food timing and communicate missing items, modifications, or issues Prepare and assemble designated expo items, including nachos, cold sides, sauces, garnishes, and other menu components Keep the expo station stocked, clean, organized, and ready for service Anticipate upcoming needs during high-volume periods Assist the kitchen and service teams as needed to keep service moving Complete assigned opening, restocking, and closing duties What We're Looking For Hardworking, dependable, and team-oriented Quick learner with strong attention to detail Able to stay organized and think clearly in a fast-paced environment Strong communicator who can work effectively with both FOH and BOH Able to prioritize multiple tickets and tasks at once Takes initiative and can anticipate what needs to happen next Flexible and able to adjust as business needs change Reliable attendance and punctuality Restaurant experience is helpful, but we're willing to train the right person Schedule This is primarily an evening and weekend position .
