Role:
Maize in Champaign, IL is looking for a motivated and dependable Support Staff member to join our growing team! Responsibilities:
Prepare dining areas before, during, and after service by setting tables, restocking supplies, and maintaining clean service stations. Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly to support efficient table turnover and a polished guest experience. Deliver food accurately and promptly from the kitchen to guests, confirming table numbers, modifications, and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room, entryway, restrooms, kitchen pass, and other guest-facing areas. Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and managers to coordinate seating, food delivery, table readiness, and special guest needs. Support the host stand by greeting guests, managing waitlists, answering basic questions, and helping maintain an organized seating flow. Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures, including proper handling of dishes, glassware, and cleaning materials. Uphold the restaurant's standards for hospitality, appearance, teamwork, and customer service.
Requirements:
No prior experience required — a positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
