Job Description
Effingham Country Club has provided our members and guests with the best experiences possible in golf, dining and at our pool since 1923. In addition, we are an ideal location for golf outings and special social occasions.
Job Summary:
Provide friendly, competent service to members and guests, in a quiet dining environment. Option to work days, evenings, weekends, banquets and/or special events. Pay is based on hourly wages + tips.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform set-up, clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
- Familiarize oneself with all selections on menu to be able to recommend appetizers, meals, desserts and drinks from restaurant wine stock
- Greet, seat and take drink and food orders
- Enter orders correctly in POS system
- Ensure that customer dishes are correct and satisfactory
- Take necessary steps to ensure a satisfactory customer experience and resolving all customer issues promptly
- Keep dining and server area neat and pleasant
- Handle payment as prescribed by standard operating procedures
- Work in collaboration with others servers and staff
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in food and beverage industry is preferred
- Ability to fulfill assigned tasks quickly and efficiently
- Calm, professional demeanor
- Ability to correctly enter food/drink orders into computer order system
- Ability to pass required certifications
- Must be at least 18 years old to serve food and 21 years old to serve alcohol
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
Food Service:
1 year (preferred)Restaurant Experience:
1 year (preferred)Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift, balance and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds
