Job Summary Timothy O'Toole's Pub Gurnee is looking for a friendly and attentive Server to join our vibrant restaurant team. In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, providing guests with an exceptional dining experience through excellent service, menu knowledge, and a welcoming attitude. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, and passionate about hospitality, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and teamwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a lively food industry environment while ensuring every guest leaves happy. Duties Greet guests warmly and assist them with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth start to their dining experience. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Upsell menu items such as wines, spirits, or specialty cocktails to enhance guest experience and increase sales. Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including food safety standards, wine pairings, and cocktail recipes to answer guest questions confidently. Handle cash transactions accurately and process sales transactions smoothly using POS systems. Support team efforts by bussing tables, assisting in food preparation when needed, and ensuring sanitation standards are upheld throughout the restaurant. Experience Previous experience in food service or hospitality is highly preferred; casual dining experience is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse guests and handle guest relations professionally. Knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail experience, and food handling practices. Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through excellent time management and organization skills.
