Job Details Food Runner/Busser Organization Overview:

The Cafe at Elawa Farm offers breakfast, lunch, coffee service, weekend brunch, and kid friendly options. The Cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8am to 3pm. Our menu is seasonal, highlighting our farm's produce as well as local farmer food. Elawa Farm Foundation's mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food system. We gather community through food and agriculture with community-based programs and events. Elawa is a tip-free organization with all hourly staff paid a flat hourly rate.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and attentive Food Runner/Busser to join our restaurant team. The primary responsibilities of this role are to ensure efficient food delivery from the kitchen to guests' tables and maintain cleanliness in the dining area. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude towards supporting restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables promptly and accurately. Assist in clearing and resetting tables efficiently to maintain a smooth flow of service. Ensure all items necessary for service (e.g., utensils, napkins) are stocked and readily available. Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure exceptional guest experiences. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing dishes, wiping down tables, and disposing of trash. Provide assistance to cashier, barista and kitchen staff as needed, such as restocking and running additional items. Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and cleaning duties. Uphold restaurant standards for quality and customer service.

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs. Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Food handler card Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Compensation:

$15 to $17/hr, roughly 25 to 40 hours a week
