Job Description
The Mette is an upscale neighborhood cocktail bar offering expertly crafted cocktails, an exceptional wine selection, and elevated small plates in a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. We believe hospitality is just as important as what's in the glass, and every member of our team plays a key role in creating memorable guest experiences. Position Summary The Server Assistant is an essential part of our front-of-house team, supporting servers and bartenders to ensure seamless, attentive service. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates guests' needs, and takes pride in maintaining a polished dining room. Responsibilities Support servers and bartenders throughout service to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately. Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently while maintaining The Mette's presentation standards. Refill water, clear empty glassware, and anticipate guest needs before they are requested. Stock service stations with glassware, silverware, napkins, ice, and other supplies before, during, and after service. Assist with polishing glassware, rolling silverware, and completing opening and closing side work. Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room, bar, and service areas. Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and service team to ensure smooth operations. Assist with guest requests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards. Qualifications Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and remain composed in a high-volume environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds throughout the shift. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
