A private club, located on North Shore's Lakefront near Evanston is seeking
SERVICE STAFF - A
La Carte Servers. Experience is preferred. We offer an hourly pay rate (No Tips) and a quality, pleasant, team oriented work environment. This position requires working on nights, weekends, and some holidays given the nature of the business. Job Tasks and Duties Perform opening and closing duties. Provide immediate attention, greet/acknowledge all members & guest. Learn Members' name and their special preferences Has knowledge of menu and wine list. Describe specials and suggests menu items Answers all questions relating to menu items. Takes food orders in proper order. Enter orders correctly in POS system and any special modifications to the menu item. Remove all unnecessary dishes, refills beverages. Assist in setting up tables and cleaning tables. Insure that all food going out to the table is correctly presented and to the members' satisfaction. Work as a team with entire staff. Keeps dining room and bus station areas clean. Clears, cleans and resets tables that have been vacated. Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur. Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager. Continually monitor station and dining room for cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with the members, fellow employees and management team. Adherence to all club policies and scheduling.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of previous restaurant experience required Maintain a BASSET and ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. Extensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation and handling. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Point of Sale systems Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
