Role Description:
The Expo role at Patrick's Grille is a part-time, on-site position based in Michigan City, IN. This role is responsible for coordinating the flow of food orders between the kitchen and front-of-house team, ensuring each plate matches ticket specifications and is presented correctly before leaving the line. Daily tasks include organizing and garnishing plates, reading and prioritizing tickets, communicating clearly with cooks and servers, and monitoring food quality and timing. The Expo also helps maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo line area, supports smooth service during peak hours, and assists with opening and closing procedures as needed. Qualifications Experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, preferably in an expo, food runner, or similar role. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tickets and plates simultaneously. Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate between kitchen staff and servers in a fast-paced setting. Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly, and handle a high-volume, time-sensitive workload. Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and maintaining a professional, team-oriented attitude. Reliable attendance, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a willingness to learn. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in casual or upscale dining is a plus.
