Server As cafe server you will be part of creating the Great Cape Baking Cafe at Hancock Shaker Village experience for visitors and fellow employees. Duties include warmly greeting visitors when they arrive, informing patrons of special menu items, ringing up food items and merchandise at the cash register, and taking payment for the products. The ideal candidate will be comfortable tending to tables and taking orders. Upstanding communication skills and a positive attitude are crucial for this role!

Your Roll:

• Maintain good communication and interpersonal skills with customers.
• Responsible for making coffees, teas and other beverages.
• Responsible for taking orders, assist customers, serve drinks and food, work the POS system and cash register.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory of paper goods, beverages and products used in FOH and reporting information to management.
• Must be able to handle cash accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints regarding food service.
• Train employees in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards in the FOH.
• Safety conscious at all times to avoid injury to self and others.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of service.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to visitors and team members.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than six (6) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
• During slower times throughout the day, caf? server will be expected to help clean and prepare for the following day.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend department meetings and trainings, as necessary.

Full time/ Part time

Pay:

\$15.00 per hour and up based on experience (plus pooled tips). Additional opportunity to work on-site catered special events. All employees will receive a 10% discount on merchandise at Hancock Shaker Village Store.
