Faidley's Seafood, a fifth-generation family-owned institution established in 1886. Originally starting as two stalls in Baltimore's Lexington Market, the brand has evolved into a world-renowned culinary destination celebrated for its "Gold Standard" jumbo lump crab cakes. Located in the heart of Catonsville, this latest expansion features a full-service restaurant and bar, raw bar, and event space. Set within a meticulously restored historic building, The Fishmonger's Daughter offers a sophisticated yet approachable dining experience defined by the excellence of our family's traditions. We are committed to thoughtful hospitality, seasonal sourcing, and craftsmanship. We treat our employees and patrons like family while continuing to provide Chesapeake's bounty to a new generation. Position Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable, hospitality-driven Server to join our team. As we expand, we are looking for individuals who can honor our family's legacy while driving the operational excellence required for a high-volume dining destination. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic language, tone, and body language. Make guests feel appreciated through attentive, engaging, and professional service. Follow the steps of service as defined, always offering hospitality to the guest. Utilize the technology and processes the restaurant has in place. Practice "athletic hospitality" by anticipating guest needs and following the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert to guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledges Guest so they know you will be right with them Work collaboratively with all personnel to maintain an efficient food and beverage service environment. Run food, drinks, and other items as needed according to the established steps of service. Verify identification and responsibly serve alcohol and remain aware of guests' state of intoxication Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to the Company's standards at all times. Have an active command of food and beverage menus, able to direct and answer guests' questions. Know which items contain the major allergens. Input drinks and food into POS with accuracy, including but not limited to seat numbers and coursing while maintaining an accurate check at all times for the guest. Maintain an attractive server station and dining room, arranging all tableware, including linen, glasses, to-go materials, and silverware to the Company's standard at all times. Clear, clean, and reset tables and bar tops; properly sort and drop silverware, glassware, and plateware to proper areas. Perform opening and closing side work as assigned. Follow other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Previous experience working as a server in high-volume fine dining environments Be of legal age to serve alcohol Current alcohol service certification (TIPS, TAM, or ServSafe) or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment Basic mathematical skills and an ability to handle money and give correct change Follow all federal, state, and local alcohol regulations Adhere to cleaning and restocking protocols Basic reading skills Basic computer skills Basic knowledge of beer styles, wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes and foundational techniques Excellent communication skills and multitasking skills Organizational skills Multi-task oriented Knowledge of Company's food and beverage specifications Knowledge of workplace safety procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Preferred Qualities Curiosity and intellectual engagement with food and beverage Interest in seasonal and local sourcing Attention to detail and pride in execution Professional, calm demeanor under pressure Commitment to continuous learning
