Job Summary Seasonal State Fair Job (Indoor Food Vendor Cashier/Team Member) Begins Friday, Aug.28th Job Ends Sunday, Sep. 13th Join our Cake&Crumbs team as a Server/Cashier, where you will be the friendly face that welcomes guests and ensures they have an exceptional State Fair experience. This role combines the art of serving delicious dessert with the precision of managing transactions efficiently. You will be responsible for taking customer orders and serving cinnamon rolls, operating POS systems, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your energetic and positive attitude will help create a lively atmosphere that keeps guests coming back! Whether handling cash register operations or assisting in order preparation, your multitasking skills will shine as you support our fast-paced food service environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and take their cinnamon bun and beverage orders accurately using Square POS system. Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments efficiently while ensuring accuracy in cash handling and register operations. Prepare simple food items/orders. Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales by recommending popular or new offerings. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the workspace, including food display, storage areas and cashier stations. Manage customer orders from start to finish, ensuring food safety protocols are followed and orders are delivered promptly. Assist with basic food safety management to uphold sanitation standards. Support retail sales transactions when applicable, helping customers with product inquiries. Keep an organized workspace by adhering to sanitation guidelines. Qualifications Previous experience in quick service or fast food restaurants preferred; culinary or café experience is a plus. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cashiering experience is highly valued. Strong food handling knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours. Proven customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that creates a welcoming environment. Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing sales records. Food preparation experience or culinary background is desirable but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
