Counter Server / Cashier Sweet Potato Sensations | Detroit, MI Part-time | Availability Thursday-Sunday Sweet Potato Sensations is a family-owned Detroit bakery and café built on good food, genuine hospitality, and community. Our counter team is often the first face a customer sees—and helps make each visit feel like coming back. We're looking for a dependable, friendly Counter Server / Cashier who enjoys helping people and takes pride in getting the details right. You'll welcome customers, answer questions about our menu, take orders, package food, and help keep the front counter running smoothly. What you'll do Greet customers and help them choose from our bakery and café offerings. Take orders in person and by phone, enter them accurately in Toast, and handle payments. Package orders carefully and check that customers receive the correct items. Keep the counter, displays, and customer areas clean, stocked, and welcoming. Communicate clearly with the kitchen and your teammates, especially when we're busy. Handle customer concerns with patience and bring issues to a manager when needed. Follow food handling and cash handling procedures. You'll be a good fit if you Show up on time, ready to work, and follow through on your responsibilities. Enjoy talking with people and can stay kind and focused during a rush. Pay attention to details when taking orders, handling money, and packing food. Work well with a team and are willing to jump in where help is needed. Are comfortable learning a point-of-sale system. Toast experience is a plus, but we can teach you. Experience in a bakery, café, restaurant, or retail shop is helpful, but a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
