Eagan, MN Job Details Full-time $19 - $25 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary The Server / Prep Float is responsible for food preparation, meal service, kitchen sanitation, inventory support, and daily operational functions within school kitchens. This position requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to food safety and customer service. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Meal Service Assist with food preparation according to approved menus and daily production schedules. Prepare and serve meals following established recipes, portion controls, and quality standards. Support cooking operations to ensure meals are prepared accurately and on schedule. Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and service. Help ensure all meals are ready to meet student and customer needs. Kitchen Operations & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, dishwashing, and workstation sanitation. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Follow all company, state, and local food safety regulations. Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are maintained in safe operating condition. Inventory & Food Safety Receive and inspect food deliveries for accuracy, quality, and proper temperature. Store products appropriately and maintain organized storage areas. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures. Assist with inventory counts and stock management. Maintain temperature logs, HACCP records, production records, and other required documentation. Report equipment concerns or repair needs promptly. Team Support & Communication Communicate effectively with school personnel, kitchen staff, and management. Check in daily with the staffing coordinator regarding work assignments and location changes. Support multiple kitchen locations as needed to ensure uninterrupted service. Assist with employee training and onboarding when requested. Report safety concerns, compliance issues, or operational challenges immediately. Professionalism & Flexibility Maintain a professional appearance and follow company dress code standards. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules, locations, and priorities. Arrive prepared to work at assigned locations each day. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to different locations as assigned. Ability to adapt quickly to different kitchen environments and teams. Preferred Previous food service, school nutrition, restaurant, or kitchen experience. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Experience working in customer service or team-based environments. Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams. Work Environment School and commercial kitchen settings. Frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals. Fast-paced environment with changing work locations and schedules. Moderate noise levels typical of food service operations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent reaching, bending, lifting, stooping, and carrying. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to safely work around kitchen equipment and food preparation areas. Ability to work in varying kitchen temperatures throughout the day.
