Join our company with a 160-year history, and together we'll build a better future. The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Server Operations Specialist who supports operations uptime. Ensures maintenance of physical and virtual server infrastructure through ongoing installation, implementation, and maintenance of servers, backup systems, and data centers. Deploy, administer, and maintain IT server infrastructure, backup systems, and data center facilities for the company. This position is based out of our Central Office in Viburnum, MO. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run has facilities in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona and operates one of the world's largest, single-site lead recycling facilities, located in Boss, MO. Using innovative mining techniques, Doe Run skillfully taps one of the largest lead deposits in the world. Education & Experience:
Associate's Degree in computer science or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in server maintenance and troubleshooting. Minimum 3 years of hands-on server work experience. Valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge of I-Series, Proxmox, Windows Server OS, and Databases (Pi, MS SQL Server, Access, AcQuire), Veeam Backup Software, What's Up Gold Monitoring, and Sensaphone Monitors. Proficient customer service skills and vendor management skills. Ability to travel 100% to server locations in Missouri.
Job Responsibilities:
Installation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of physical and virtual server infrastructure, including physical equipment as well as other software systems. Keep servers patched, backed up, and online for the business. Keep Generators and UPS systems up and running properly to protect server equipment and online. Keep computer server rooms organized and monitoring tools working. Keep the virtual server environment stable and up to date based on the company's computer requirements. Help Desktop Support Team by acting as Tier 3 support for server issues and participating in the IT on-call rotation. Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance. Other duties or projects as assigned.
Tools Utilized, Environmental Conditions, Physical & Lifting Requirements:
Regularly uses telephone and computer. Rarely utilizes hand tools. Regularly works in an office environment with moderate noise from servers. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more. Ability to identify and distinguish colors; Frequently talking, hearing, sitting and repetitive wrist and/or finger movement.
