Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE
As a Cocktail Server, you will be responsible for excellent customer service by delivering food and alcoholic beverages throughout the casino ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of experience as a cocktail and/or food server in a similar environment.
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of beverages on the menu, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality.
  • Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking. An ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays may also be required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take orders and serve food and drinks efficiently and accurately in the work area as applicable.
  • Place orders, garnish, and serve cocktails to guests.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available.
  • Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment including folding/stacking cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect the cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, and/or notify the supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
