Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Aide/Server to join our compassionate team in providing exceptional nutritional support and meal service to our residents. In this vital role, you will assist with food preparation, serve meals with a friendly attitude, and ensure that all dietary needs are met in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel cared for and valued. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in food service, dietary management, and working with geriatric populations while making a meaningful difference in residents' daily lives. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained. Assist with food production tasks such as portioning, plating, and setting up meal trays efficiently. Support the dietary department by cleaning kitchen equipment, dining areas, and adhering to sanitation protocols aligned with JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards. Buss tables, assist residents with dining as needed, and ensure a positive dining experience through friendly customer service. Follow safe manual handling practices during heavy lifting or movement of supplies and equipment to prevent workplace injuries. Maintain accurate documentation of meal service times, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to meet the nutritional needs of residents while respecting individual health plans. Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures. Excellent time management skills to coordinate meal preparation and service efficiently. Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients, demonstrating patience, compassion, and excellent customer service skills. Familiarity with culinary techniques including cooking, meal preparation, and food presentation. Understanding of workplace safety practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use and safe lifting practices. Experience in food production, serving, bussing tables, cleaning kitchens/dining areas, and general sanitation tasks. Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to dietary assistance for elderly populations. CPR certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is advantageous.
