Job Description
Basic Job Function:
To help the overall day to day operation and long term outlook of the restaurant; to give each guest top-rated service with quality knowledge, understanding and interest in every component of the dishes and beverages that they serve. Main duty is to provide polite, professional, fast, and courteous service. The level of professionalism expected is high. As a server, your section is the entire restaurant—the bar, the phone, the food line, etc. This isn't to say you will have every table to yourself, all essential functions from taking orders to polishing glasses, pouring water and wine, bussing tables and resetting tables, to running food. All of these and more define our teamwork and attitude. Your positive attitude and how you fit into our team is essential. With that in mind the restaurant is your house and the guests are your guests. Treat them with respect, and you will receive the same in return. While the responsibility of assuring great service to the entire restaurant is big, with teamwork it becomes easy and flowing.
Job Requirements:
Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform. Accurately take food order from guest, place it into micros 100% accurately, obtain information of allergies and or special needs and communicate that efficiently. Accurately deliver food from kitchen, Hot and Cold. Assist in the clearing and resetting of tables, and transport of food to and from kitchens. Coordinate activities with Servers to execute a smooth flowing dining experience for guests. Display a cordial, accommodating, and hospitable disposition while interacting with guests. Assist with In Room Dining service and performing duties in the kitchen, as assigned. Transport supplies as needed. In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager.

Experience:
Serving experience required; hospitality experience preferred Customer service: 1 year (Preferred) Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Serving:
1 year (Preferred) Food preparation: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
High school or equivalent education required
Licenses or Certificates:
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
Grooming:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Umstead Hotel standards.
