$17-$19 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. The Tides Estate is seeking experienced Cater Waiters / Banquet Servers to join our hospitality team. We are looking for polished, attentive, and dependable professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service at weddings, private celebrations, and special events. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of formal banquet service, anticipates guests' needs, and works efficiently as part of a coordinated service team. Previous experience in catering, banquet service, or upscale event dining is required. Position Overview Working under the direction of the maître d', banquet captains, and management team, Cater Waiters are responsible for event setup, attentive food and beverage service, and post-event breakdown. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain service standards in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare event spaces. Set tables, arrange linens, polish silverware and glassware, and organize service stations according to event specifications. Deliver professional food and beverage service. Serve passed hors d'oeuvres, plated courses, and beverages, and assist with buffet or station service as assigned. Follow established service procedures and timing. Maintain attentive guest service. Respond courteously to requests, replenish water and beverages, clear finished courses, and keep tables clean and organized without interrupting the guest experience. Follow event direction and communicate effectively. Attend pre-event briefings, understand assigned sections and responsibilities, and coordinate closely with the kitchen, banquet captains, and fellow servers. Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests accurately; never guess about ingredients. Complete breakdown and side work. Clear and reset event spaces, return equipment to designated areas, and leave service stations clean and organized while following established food safety and sanitation procedures. Required Qualifications Prior catering, banquet, or upscale event-service experience is required. Experience serving weddings and large, coordinated events is strongly preferred. Familiarity with formal table settings, tray service, course timing, and professional serving and clearing techniques. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, a courteous manner, and a neat, professional presentation consistent with venue standards. Strong punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail, with the ability to follow direction and remain composed during busy service periods. Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday events, including late-night breakdowns, and the ability to perform essential duties such as standing, walking, and carrying service trays throughout an event shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
