We are hiring friendly, attentive, and dependable Restaurant Servers to join our opening team. This is a regular hourly-wage position paying $20.00-$25.00 per hour—not a tipped-minimum-wage position. Guests may choose to leave additional voluntary tips. Additional tips are not guaranteed and may vary by shift and business volume. Sakana uses tablet ordering for its all-you-can-eat dining experience. Servers must be comfortable explaining the menu and ordering process, assisting first-time guests, managing multiple tables, and communicating closely with the kitchen, sushi bar, food runners, and managers. Paid pre-opening training will be provided. Applicants must be available to attend training before the restaurant opens. Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive, and professional service. Ask each table whether it is their first visit and explain Sakana's all-you-can-eat menu and tablet-ordering process when needed. Explain dining policies, menu options, service charges, and additional tipping accurately and respectfully. Ask guests about food allergies before ordering and follow Sakana's allergy-order procedures. Assist guests with tablets, menu questions, order timing, and special requests. Monitor tables throughout the meal and check on guests regularly. Deliver beverages, food, sauces, utensils, and other requested items promptly. Verify that orders are accurate and communicate missing items, delays, refires, and guest concerns immediately. Coordinate with sushi chefs, kitchen staff, food runners, hosts, server assistants, and managers. Follow last-call procedures and confirm that guests have submitted their final tablet orders. Process checks and payments accurately using the POS system. Pre-bus tables and maintain clean, organized service stations. Follow food-safety, sanitation, allergy, and responsible-service procedures. Complete assigned opening, closing, side-work, and cleaning duties. Notify a manager promptly when a guest has a complaint or service issue. Compensation Fixed hourly wage of $20.00-$25.00, based on experience, availability, and demonstrated service skills Additional voluntary tips from guests Additional tips are optional and are not guaranteed An 18% service charge is added to all guest checks. The service charge is not a gratuity. Qualifications Previous restaurant-server experience is preferred. Experience in a busy, high-volume, AYCE, sushi, or Asian restaurant is a plus. Friendly, patient, professional, and comfortable explaining policies to guests. Able to learn a large menu and use tablet-ordering and POS systems. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills. Able to remain calm and attentive during busy service. Dependable, punctual, team-oriented, and willing to assist others. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is strongly preferred. Must be available for paid pre-opening training. Able to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. English is required for clear guest communication. Spanish or Chinese language skills are a plus.
