A Waiter or Waitress takes orders and serves food and beverages to customers in restaurants. Answers customer questions about menu items, prepares checks and collects payment, and assists with clearing dishes and tables. May work in banquet or dining halls.
Responsible for proper and efficient preparation and serving of all food items in the employee dining areas.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in food preparation and service required. Must be able to work in a fast- paced environment. Must be customer service and team oriented. Must be dedicated to serving coworkers. Must be able to understand and communicate verbally in English.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Set-up, maintain and clean all employee dining service areas. 2. Responsible for proper and efficient cooking procedures including, but not limited to, preparing raw or cooked food items(fish, poultry, meat, fruits, vegetables etc.) to company standards and expectations, and timely service of finished product to guests. 3. Stock all service items. 4. Maintain all EDR equipment clean and in good working order. 5. Other job related duties as assigned and instructed by management.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
Identify employees and greet them by name. Remember employees' favorite items. Make or assemble special orders when possible to accommodate employee requests. Work quickly to accommodate employees' time schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around kitchen equipment, moving parts, carts, or machines, or with contagious diseases or irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
