Food Runner Position Summary The Food Runner is responsible for ensuring every dish is delivered promptly, accurately, and with exceptional presentation. Working closely with the culinary and front-of-house teams, this role serves as the final link between the kitchen and the guest, helping create a seamless dining experience through teamwork, urgency, and attention to detail. A successful Food Runner takes pride in every plate, communicates effectively with both the kitchen and service teams, and contributes to the elevated hospitality that defines Dear Dad.
Required availability:

Essential ResponsibilitiesFood Delivery Deliver food promptly while maintaining proper presentation and food quality. Verify each plate for accuracy before leaving the kitchen. Deliver dishes to the correct guest using established seat positions. Present menu items confidently and accurately when delivering food. Communicate dietary restrictions, modifications, and special requests with confidence. Kitchen & Service Coordination Work closely with the culinary team and Expo to coordinate timely food delivery. Maintain awareness of table progression to ensure proper pacing between courses. Communicate delays, corrections, or special requests to the appropriate team members. Assist in coordinating large parties and multi-course service. Dining Room Support Assist with table maintenance as needed during service. Support Servers and Server Assistants during periods of high volume. Help maintain cleanliness and organization in service stations and expo areas. Complete opening, running, and closing side work. Teamwork Maintain constant communication with the kitchen and front-of-house teams. Demonstrate urgency while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Support fellow team members wherever needed to ensure smooth service. Participate in menu education and ongoing training. Qualifications Required Strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and demeanor. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Previous restaurant or hospitality experience. Experience in an upscale casual or fine dining environment. Basic knowledge of food preparation and menu terminology. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds. Bend, reach, twist, and move efficiently throughout the restaurant. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
