Job Summary We are excited to welcome a passionate part-time Winery Tasting Room Educator to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be the face of our winery, guiding guests through memorable wine experiences and sharing your expertise on our wines and offerings. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about wine, customer service-oriented, and eager to educate visitors while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. This position offers an opportunity to utilize engaging hospitality skills in a lively, dynamic environment. Responsibilities Lead engaging tastings by educating guests on the winery's wines, production methods. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and upselling wine products. Assist in menu planning for tasting experiences and special events to enhance guest enjoyment. Work with POS systems for sales transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and record keeping. Support team efforts in food and beverage service, including serving wine, food pairing suggestions, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Promote wine sales through effective upselling techniques while maintaining a friendly, approachable demeanor. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods and special events. Skills Experience with POS systems; familiarity with cashiering and cash handling is preferred. Base knowledge of wine types, tasting techniques, and wine service standards. Background in food service or hospitality, including restaurant or fine dining experience; culinary or catering experience is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently about wine and food pairings. Ability to lead tastings confidently while engaging diverse audiences from casual visitors to connoisseurs. Knowledge of food safety practices, serving protocols, and food industry standards related to beverage service.
